Organization: International Music Community (IMC)
On June 8th, Discovery 2 will be teaming up with the IMC (International Music Community) to present some of their hottest new artists and bands at the all-day ‘Summer Sizzler’ at Cargo in Shoreditch, London. The Ocean Project is a supported charity for this event, and we appreciate the support.
June 8th has been earmarked for two international awareness days: World Oceans Day (http://worldoceansday.org/ ) and Unfuck The World Day (http://www.utwnow.com/unfuck-the-world-day/ ). The Summer Sizzler has been strategically put in place to support these great initiatives. Click on the event title for full details!
Our Supported Charity: The Ocean Project (http://theoceanproject.org/ )
There will be 12 bands performing throughout the day, an all-day BBQ, a photo ‘fun’ booth and guest speakers talking about some of the great things they are doing to contribute to the sustainability of our planet and those who inhabit it.
Confirmed Artists (so far):
“Vibrant sound, Alonestar’s vocals run deep” – Venue Magazine
“In Early June the band were selected over thousands of bands to be the main support to Bon Jovi at The O2 Arena London, playing to over 20000 people.”
“The 1930s write fist in the air, hug your brother music. Lyrically ahead of the game. A top band you NEED in your life.” – Phil Taggart – BBC Radio 1
“There aren’t many bands that are good enough to catch the attention of members of The Specials, but then there aren’t many bands like The Talks. Proving that hard work, persistence and a pocket full of irresistibly catchy tunes can pay dividends” – Music Radar
“November’s best music from across the MAP (Music Alliance Pact): South Korea: Hugh Keice – We Are Islands” – The Guardian
“The most talented lady I have ever met… This is what I have been waiting for!” – Frankmusic – Producer/Artist
“A great voice and a great understanding for melody” – Billy Ocean – Artist
“I was mesmerized when I saw them, and blagged a cd to play on my show. Cracking songs with great guitar riffs. I LOVE THEM!” – Janice Long – BBC Radio 2
“Take The Ride pays more than passing homage to the angry, politicised Ska, Punk and New Wave of the late 70′s – energetic, ferocious and fizzing with unpredictability. I love it!” – Katy Noone – Producer – BBC Introducing
